  This book is a must read for anyone who is contemplating being involved in the church in any way. It is a look at the historical beginnings of this institution and will leave you wondering why anybody would want to be a part of it. This is the story of how a group of people distorted  the real Jesus in order to create the fake Jesus they needed in order to build a church capable of controlling peoples behavior. The next book to read would be ‘The Gospels According to Thomas’ by the same author as an aid to understanding why the real Jesus had to be changed for the church to exist.
